D&L Opening Day for Trails Clean Up in Hugh Moore Park

Celebrate National Volunteer Month and Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s Opening Day for Trails by giving back to the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (D&L). The D&L is seeking volunteers to help clean up Easton’s Hugh Moore Park on April 8, 2017 at 9:00 am.

Volunteers will meet in the main parking lot in Hugh Moore Park at 9:00am to break into groups for various activities, including litter clean-up along streets and the D&L Trail, installing safety signs along the D&L Trail, clearing branches, planting flowers, helping the museum get ready for Immersion Days and setting up the Trail Tender Trailer. Plan on volunteering for about 3 hours, but if volunteers can only come for a bit, we’ll still welcome the help. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothes – long pants and long sleeve shirts are best. This is a Great American Clean Up of PA registered event.

East Hills Middle School: Charger Records

Charger Records is a student-run Records company where students can write and record their own original songs. Using the same software and computers professional recording studios use, students can create their own music and learn the same techniques used by the music industry. Students will learn to work with microphones, MIDI keyboards, and other recording equipment in collaboration with other student musicians, songwriters, and student engineers. This program meets Thursdays  at 3:05 to 4:05 PM at East Hills. An interest to learn recording technology is beneficial; musical knowledge is helpful, but not necessary. Students need a desire to write original songs, learn the applications we use to record our songs, and mentor younger students. Please contact Mr.Quelet at  kquelet@basdschools.org if you are interested.
