Interested in Data & History?

MORAVIAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY, Bethlehem is seeking volunteer help to index historic church registers in an online database. This requires volunteering on-site and having some experience with a computer. Church registers that date back to the 1700s and later, this database will include baptisms, confirmations, marriages, burials, ordinations, and removals will be used. It is the first big step in making the contents of these registers accessible to users across the world! Help us preserve history one name at a time! Breakfast with Santa at St. Andrew's

St Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bethlehem will be hosting a free Breakfast with Santa on Saturday December 17, 2016.  We have invited our families who visit the interfaith Food Pantry as well as other children in the community.  This event is offered to children up to the age of 12, St. Andrew's will be providing breakfast, crafts and a picture with Santa for each child to take home.    We are in need of 10 - 12 students to assist the children with the craft projects, help with the picture line and add to the fun that day.

Updated Christmas City Follies Information

Hello, again, Touchstone Volunteers!

We are fast approaching Christmas City Follies XVIIThere aren't too many rehearsals left before we begin technical rehearsals, and before you know it, Thanksgiving will be past and we'll be closing the home stretch. With that in mind, I wanted to reach out to all of you lovely people and let you know that there are still 11 spots that I need to fill.  

For each performance we need 1 Usher. Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis, and you are more than welcome to fill multiple slots. First time volunteers should also be available to schedule a brief orientation on a day prior to their shift.

For the first three Sunday runs I also need a cafe worker
 who will be in charge of running the coffee and concessions counter. They will be needed through intermission, so they will be called 12:45 to 3:15

Day off on November 28th? Volunteer!!

Farmersville Elementary School is hosting the Reflections Art Contest Award Ceremony on Friday November 18th.  Volunteers are needed to hand out programs, “man” the snack table and dish out ice cream.  The time would be 6:15-8:15.

Christkindlmarkt is only 4 days away and we still need a lot of help! Join us for the Holidays at our newly expanded festival! Featuring three tents, a much larger area for St. Nick, new crafters, performers and food vendors! With the recent expansion of our Holiday event comes the need for increased volunteer support. As always, we ask that you please consider signing up for 2-3 volunteer shifts for Christkindlmarkt, as it’s a very long festival and we will need as much help as we can get.

In case you are new to Christkindlmarkt, here are some of the fun volunteer opportunities we have available for this event:
Admissions Assistant: Admissions volunteers greet guests and sell entrance admission to patrons. If you enjoy being busy and working with customers, this opportunity is for you! Must be 18 to volunteer in this position.
Retail Assistant: With 3 tents we are changing and expanding our merchandise areas. Volunteer in the Bethlehem Steel shop, the main merch area, or at St. Nick’s! You must be 15 years or older to volunteer in this position.
Booth Attendant: Walk throughout the market and give the vendors and crafters short breaks, or to just keep an eye on their booth when they run to grab some food. This is a great position to volunteer with a friend, as all volunteers are paired up for this event! Must be 18 years of age for this position.
Ticket Taker/Hand Stamper: One of the most important positions at Christkindlmarkt are the folks who direct traffic at the main entrance and stamp hands so patrons can re-enter the festival. You must be 15 years or older for this position.
Other opportunities include EcoSquad, Visitor Center Assistant, Entrance Monitor, Floating Volunteer, Customer Service Assistant and much more. There are only two Orientation sessions left, don’t forget to sign up! The first session is tomorrowNovember 15th at 10:00AM and the last is at 6:00PM on the same date. If you are unable to make the orientation, we can provide training and volunteer materials on-site!

Vendor Craft Fair for Wesley Methodist Church in need of volunteers

Volunteers are needed at Wesley United Methodist Church for their annual craft fair.  The event is on December 3rd from 10 am to 3 pm. Volunteers are needed from 8 am to 4:30 pm to assist with set up, clean up, and throughout the event.  There will also be volunteers needed to help with the kids crafts table and the auction table.  Interested students are able to pick flexible hours during the day and should contact Jill Berkman to schedule a time.  Call or text 484-554-9811 by December 1st

Saturday 10-4 shifts available with Habitat's ReStore

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY LV RESTORE, Whitehall - If you enjoy yard sales or antiquing, come volunteer at the ReStore's Housewares Department.  New volunteers shadow a current volunteer on their first day.  Shifts are available 10am-4pm Wednesday-Saturday.  Volunteers will be accepting usable donations, sorting, cleaning, pricing, and displaying of these items.  Long pants and closed toe shoes must be worn while volunteering.  Call Camille Urbano, 610-776-7737 x318Camille@habitatlv.org.
 

Turkey Trot Time!

Holiday Craft Bazaar at Cedarbrook THIS WEEKEND

I am delighted to present you the third volunteering opportunity of the 2016-2017 season -- Christmas City Follies XVII, created and presented by the Touchstone Ensemble and extended family. Featuring the characters and spectaculars you have come to love (plus more), including The Old Guy, Little Red, and the immortal shopping cart ballet. There are a whopping 28 available slots for Follies, which begins December 1 and ends December 18, and runs 14 times.

Lehigh Valley Zoo Winterlights Spectacular 2016 Needs Volunteers

The Lehigh Valley Zoo is looking for volunteers to play character roles for their upcoming Winterlights Spectacular 2016!  Characters include Elsa, Anna, Star Wars, Minions, The Grinch plus more! We have all the costumes. 
We also need volunteers to man fire pits, snack stands and parking!

Winter Lights Spectacular is the largest fundraising event of the year for the Lehigh Valley Zoo with over 50,000 guests coming to enjoy the scenery.

Dates:

November 11th through Jan 1st
Every Wednesday through Sunday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas Eve.

Time: 5:30-10:00pm everyday unless canceled by rain or snow.

Every Volunteer will receive one free ticket for everyday they volunteer to come back and enjoy Winterlights or can give it away to family and friends.

Youth Education in the Arts Needs Volunteers This Weekend 11/5 and 11/6

Volunteers are needed to assist with a competition at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown on Saturday 11/5/16 and Sunday 11/6/16.  They can use lots of help.

Shifts available:
Saturday 11/5/16  8:00am - 1:00pm,  12:30pm - 5:30pm,  and 5:00pm - 11:00pm (and of show) Sunday 11/6/16  7:00am - 1:00pm,  12:30pm - 6:30pm,  and 6:00pm - 12:00am (end of show)
