Runners World/City of Bethlehem needs Volunteers!

Runner's World is pleased to announce the return of the Runner's World Half Marathon and running Festival in 2015.  The race courses will feature Bethlehem's historic neighborhoods, including some of the town's original 1741 settlement, Moravian College, and the former Bethlehem Steel complex–where the backbone of the nation was literally forged.

When: Friday, October 16th – Sunday, October 18th

Want to volunteer planning events for a non profit?


THE SALVATION ARMY CHILDREN'S SERVICES, Allentown is looking for volunteers to join our Children's Service Committee!  The CSC plans our largest annual fundraising event, The Rock N' Run 4 Kids, coordinates awareness events, cultivates relationships with for-profit organizations & much more! Tutoring Opportunity (say that 10 times fast)


NORTHEAST MINISTRY, Bethlehem is in great need of tutors for our After School Homework Club held Monday through Thursday from 3-5:30pm during the school year.  Tutors assist with homework, provide reading support, and work on basic math skills.  Tutors are needed daily, and can participate as often as the program meets.  Call Paula Johnson, 610-691-3355, johnsonp@northeastministry.com.

Turkey Trot Volunteers Needed


HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES proudly announces its 13th Annual Turkey Trot 5kRun, a competitive and fun walk, scheduled for Saturday, November 28.  Since this race has grown significantly, volunteers play a key role in assuring the success of the race.  Volunteers are needed Nov. 27 and 28.  Some of the roles include helping with registration, being a race marshal, handing out post-race refreshments, t-shirt handout and many more.  Call Melanie Depcinski, 610-882-0450 x13, mdepcinski@historicbethlehem.org.

Allentown and ArtsQuest have partnered for a special Viewing Event commemorating Pope Francis’ historic visit to Philadelphia. The day features fun family activities, delicious food and a live mass at noon. It all culminates with a special Viewing Event of the Papal Mass in Philadelphia on three outdoor screens at 4 p.m.

We still desperately need help with EcoSquad signups! We expect a large volume of patrons and any help we can get to keep the grounds clean would be greatly appreciated. Please either visit the Volunteer Hub at this link to sign yourself up, or you get in touch with one of the volunteer coordinators if you’d like us to sign you up. 

In other news, Oktoberfest signups are going fast! If you’d still like to volunteer for this incredibly fun festival and haven’t signed up yet, then act now! D&L needs Docents!

DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR, INC., Easton needs docents.  Volunteers will receive resource materials and appropriate costumes, which you are responsible to clean.  Training on Wed. Sept. 16 and Wed. Haunted Woods Volunteers Needed

We’re participating in the Haunted Woods event that benefits Bethlehem Special Olympics (BSO). All proceeds go to BSO. We’re looking for volunteers to dress up in scary costumes and scare customers for each Saturday night in October. The location is in Zionsville.


Set up: Sunday 9/20 – 4-6 pm – Bring your own hammer

Take down: Sunday, 11/1 – 4-6pm – Bring your own hammer



Time to scare! Make sure to bring your own flashlight.

Touchstone Theatre Volunteers Needed!

Hey Touchstone Volunteers,

Amber here, excited to announce the first volunteering opportunity of our 2015-2016 Season!  We need a total of 8 volunteers for our season opener The First 100 Years of Edith Piaf.  This original production is the American debut of Italian theatre company Teatro Potlach.  Show dates are September 17, 18, and 19 at 8pm and 20 at 2pm.

For each performance we need 1 usher and 1 cafĂ© assistant.  Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Call Time:  Ushers: 7pm on Sept. 17, 18, 19 and 1pm on 20.
Cafe Assistants: 6:45pm on Sept. 17, 18, 19 and 12:45pm on 20.

End Time:  8:15pm on Sept. 17, 18, and 19 and 2:15pm on 20.

Dress:  Presentable. Think business casual, or how you would dress to visit your grandparents. (e.g. no t-shirts, flip flops, shorts, short skirts, etc. Nice dark jeans without rips or holes are acceptable.)

Sigal Museum Volunteers Needed


NORTHAMPTON CO. HISTORICAL & GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY, Easton has several openings for volunteers at the Sigal Museum.  Admission and Store Clerks are needed to greet and assist visitors paying admission and purchasing items from the museum store.  Receptionist and Museum Assistants need to work in the lobby welcoming visitors and dealing with inquiries on the phone and face-to-face.  Museum Shop Attendants and Cashiers are needed.  Training will be provided for all volunteers.  Call Kenneth Wildrick, 610-252-8080, volunteer.nchgs@gmail.com.

Clean The World!


ARTSQUEST, Bethlehem needs your help on Sat. Sept. 26 to build 25,000 hygiene kits to be distributed to people who can't afford to purchase these necessities or lack access to these basics.  Sign up for a 2 and a half hour shift between 8:30am to 5pm.  All volunteers will receive a t-shirt, a raffle ticket for great prizes, enjoy great entertainment, and more.  This event is part of Clean the World's initiative to build 200,000 kits in one day.  It will take place in a tent in the parking lot at 3rd & Foundry, behind SteelStacks and PBS39.
