Northampton County Household Hazardous Waste Events - October 14, 2017, 8:30-2:00 - They are seeking volunteers for the day to assist residents in unloading the recyclables from their vehicles and other small tasks.

DELAWARE & LEHIGH NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR (D&L)- The National Canal Museum (NCM), a program of D &L, is searching for volunteers to serve as docents (docent: person who acts as a guide, typically on a voluntary basis). Docents do not have to have experience giving museum tours, but should be interested in the transportation and industrial history of the region, enjoy talking with the public, and should enjoy learning new things! Docents can choose from working in the NCM gift shop, greeting visitors, and/or providing tours of the museum to visitors. The minimum age for volunteers is 16. From October 7, 2017 until October 29, 2017, the National Canal Museum is open on weekends. The National Canal Museum hours are 11:30 am - 4:30 pm on each day it is open. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville - The Lehigh Valley Zoo needs volunteers to be an integral part of the zoo family by providing Smart fun for over 200,000 visitors annually. GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth - Volunteers needed to escort residents to appointments within the facility. Opportunities are Monday through Friday 9AM-3PM.  Activity helpers needed to assist staff with games, crafts, and special events. GRASS Recycling & Sustainability Project (For LHS Students Only!) -  Student volunteers are needed to collect and coordinate recycling at Liberty. Students are needed daily. Please contact Mr. Zahm for more information at gzahm@basdschools.org


FEAT (For FHS Students only!) - Freedom’s Environmental Awareness Team is always looking for new members to help with coordinating and collecting recycling!  They recycle after school most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students meet in room 143. As the weather gets warmer, they will also need volunteers to work in the courtyard with weeding, mulching, planting, and general clean-up. HOLY FAMILY MANOR, Bethlehem - Volunteer opportunities available from 8:30am-3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Activity helpers to assist with games, crafts, decorating, and special events. KIRKLAND VILLAGE, Bethlehem - Kirkland Village, a senior living center off of Center Street, is looking for additional volunteers in our Market Place food court between the hours of 4:00 -7:00 PM each day of the week.
