AMERICAN RED CROSS of the GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY has volunteer opportunities to help with their Blood Drives. Transportation drivers are needed to deliver blood and related products from blood drives to the Red Cross Donation Center in Philadelphia and/or from the Donation Center to area hospitals.   Blood Donor Ambassadors are needed to provide customer service to donors at blood drives by helping with registration, greet donors, and offer refreshments. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville is seeking volunteers to help with their Winter Light Spectacular from 5-10pm every Wednesday through Sunday, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from now through December 30. Volunteers help with games and holiday activities, snack stands, costumed characters, fire pits, admission, and more. All opportunities are outdoors, so dress weather appropriate! MEALS ON WHEELS OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is seeking individuals or teams to deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. YOUTH VOLUNTEER COUNCIL-VOLUNTEER CENTER of the LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem is recruiting high 
school students from grades 10 to 12 and college students to participate in their inaugural Youth 
Volunteer Council. Their mission is to be the premier resource that coordinates and connects a diverse culture of youth to community service within the Greater Lehigh Valley. Members of the council will be completing various service projects and develop leadership skills! December #2 Community Service Opportunities 2018

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

Consider becoming a volunteer at Central Moravian's Putz.  Volunteers needed! Are you looking to do something meaningful this Christmas season?  We are looking for Liberty and Freedom students 15 years and up. 

Place: The Location is at Central Moravian Church, CE building (40 W. Church St), lower level.  

When:  November 23, 2018, and ends December 31, 2018

The hours are (Shifts are two hours) Please consider signing up for multiple shifts: 

Thursday, Friday, 1:00pm-7:00pm, 

Saturday 10am-8pm and 

Sunday, 1pm-5pm. 

Typically, the last shift stays 30 minutes after closing time. 

There are two roles we are looking for volunteers for: 

Hoster:  You will be running the Putz, there are two options.   One is to provide a short introduction (written page is on the podium in Putz room) and then push the button to start the Putz.   The other is to push the button which begins with the introduction. There are instructions on running the Putz inside the room. 


Greeter:  You will be outside the Putz room, in the hallway, greeting the visitors.  You will count the numbers in each party (and where they are from, and how they heard about us), and record this information in the log book.   Encourage them to sit in the waiting room or even better, shop in the Star and Candle Shoppe across the hall while they wait. Putz showings are every half-hour. Group tours will be noted in the log book as an FYI to you.    

If this is your first time helping, we would be happy to provide training or connect you with a volunteer on a previous shift who can give a quick tutorial.

ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION invites volunteers to a Christmas Gift Wrapping Party on Saturday, December 15. You will be wrapping gifts for men at the Allentown Rescue Mission. HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES is looking for volunteers to serve as Gallery Guides at the Kemmerer Museum of Decorative Arts Gallery. Guides keep a watchful eye over the exhibits, answer visitors' questions, and should be knowledgeable about the museum and exhibits. THE SALVATION ARMY, Lehigh Valley needs Red Kettle Bell Ringers at various locations in the Allentown and Bethlehem area. Two or four-hour shifts available at your convenience Monday through Saturday now through December 24. St. Andrews Church is in need of volunteers to help with children’s Christmas Party on:

When:  Saturday, December 15, 2018
Time:   from 8 am until 1 pm.
