AMERICAN RED CROSS, Bethlehem seeks volunteers for the "SOUND THE ALARM" Campaign on Saturday, September 28. Meet at the Bethlehem Fire Dept., 2412 Easton Ave. no later than 8:30am. Lunch provided at the end of the event. Install free smoke alarms and share fire safety tips. Everything provided-equipment, supplies, training, even breakfast, and lunch. No experience needed. Volunteers must be 13 years or older. Pre-registration requested to ensure enough food & supplies. Register at

HISTORIC BETHLEHEM MUSEUMS & SITES is looking for volunteers for the Annual Apple Days Festival at Burnside Plantation on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 from 9:30am-4:30pm. Shifts are 9:30am-1pm and/or 12:30-4pm both days. Volunteers receive an Apple Days t-shirt, free admission to the festival, and a free slice of apple pie or scoop of ice cream. MARATHON FOR VIA, Lehigh Valley

is seeking volunteers for their annual marathon on Saturday, 9/7 (9am-5pm) and Sunday, 9/8 (5:30am-1:30pm). The Marathon starts in Allentown, goes through Bethlehem, and ends in Easton.  Volunteers help with registration, pack pick-up, hand out water to runners, and course marshal spots (cheering on runners) along the route. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield has a year-round need for volunteers to help at their ranch, a sanctuary for abused and neglected animals. Help feed and water the ducks, chickens, piggies, alpacas, goats, horses, and more, or help with light ranch maintenance. GREATER VALLEY YMCA, Allentown is looking for volunteers to take an active role in bringing about meaningful and enduring change in your own neighborhood. Everyone has personal strengths to offer and to build in others. Volunteer opportunities are available in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Nazareth, Suburban North (Catasauqua), Slate Belt, and Forks Education Center. To learn more, call

FEED THE CHILDREN, Bethlehem is accepting volunteer applications for their Teacher Store where teachers from Title I school districts can shop for free school supplies four days a month. Dedicated, outgoing volunteers are needed from 1:30-5pm every Wednesday of the month to help with check-in/out, assist shoppers, restock the store during the week.
