Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Needs Volunteers

Volunteers needed for an Hour of Code event.  Meet at Thomas Jefferson from 3:40pm-4:30pm and set up meetings will be held 11/2,  11/9,  11/16,  11/30,  and 12/7.   The same people would come on 12/8 from 4:45pm-7:15pm.

Christmas Toys Outreach - Grace Assembly of God at Banana Factory

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Christmas Toys Outreach to Children in the City of Bethlehem.  This event will take place over many weekends at the Banana Factory.  Volunteers are needed for set up (on Saturday evenings) and during the event (Sundays) for security, assisting with distribution, and assisting with activities.

Dates are as follows

November 12th (set up) and 13th (event 8am -1pm)

November 19th (set up) and 20th (event 8am -1pm)

November 26th (set up) and 27th (event 8am -1pm)



December 3rd (set up) and 4th (event 8am -1pm)

December 10th (set up) and 11th (event 8am -1pm)

December 17th (set up) and 18th (event 8am -1pm)

Hours and schedules are flexible.  MANY volunteers are needed.  Please contact Terry Schaller at 610-462-3110 for more information and to schedule your volunteer hours.

Fall Work Party - Lehigh Sports Association

Lehigh Sports Association is in need of volunteers this Saturday October 29th  from 10am - noon to clean up the fields and get them closed for the winter.

Opportunity with YWCA Bethlehem

YWCA Bethlehem has a volunteer opportunity for office assistance during the after-school hours.  We are looking for a student who can accept a 2 – 4 hour/week commitment to assist with simple data entry, shredding, photocopying and other office tasks.  We are located in Hanover Township (off of Highland Avenue)

Volunteers needed TOMORROW with YEA!

Youth Education in the Arts is looking for 6-8 volunteers for an after-school project tomorrowThursday, October 13. We need some extra hands to prepare items for a large band show this weekend. The project is located at our office in Allentown, 601 West Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18101. 

Volunteers are welcome to come after school - someone will be in our office until at least 7pm. If students need a ride, I may be able to arrange a pickup at school and return to school in the evening - we have a company van that I can use.

FBTAA Field Closing! Volunteers Needed!


On Saturday, October 8th, FBT will be closing its fields for the season.  This requires a lot of work but the more people we have helping, the more we can get done in less time.

If you can help in any way (even for as little as a hour), please do so.  We will be starting at 8am at FBT.

We will be taking down the batting cage nets and signage along the out walls, putting away the tarps, trash cans, and equipment, and generally cleaning up the facilities and both FBT and Miller Heights (if possible).

And this is a great opportunity for any children who need volunteer hours.

Rain date is Sunday, October 9th.

Miller Keystone Volunteer Orientation coming up!

MILLER-KEYSTONE BLOOD CENTER, Bethlehem is looking for Canteen Attendants on Saturday from 10am-1pm attheir Allentown site.  Volunteers are also needed for their bloodmobiles.  Canteen attendants monitor blood donors after their donations, serve drinks/snacks to our donors, and ensure donors are feeling well before leaving the site.  Volunteers with flexible availability are also needed.    Orientation  scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10am-12noon.   Call Janice Brown, 610-691-5850,jbrown@giveapint.org.

Touchstone Theatre Volunteers Needed - November

My name is Sarah and I am your new volunteer coordinator, presenting to you the second volunteering opportunity of the 2016-2017 season. There are 8 volunteer slots for José Torres-Tama's presentation of Aliens, Immigrants, and Other Evildoers. Show dates are November 3, 4, and 5 at 8pm and Nov. 6 at 2pm

For each performance we need 1 Usher and 1 FloaterSlots will be filled on a first come, first served basis, and you are more than welcome to fill multiple slots. First time volunteers should also be available to schedule a brief orientation on a day prior to their shift.

Call Time: All: 7pm on Nov. 3, 4, 5; 1pm on Nov. 6.

End Time: All: 8:15pm on Nov. 3, 4, 5; 2:15pm on Nov. 6

Dress:  Presentable. Think business casual, or how you would dress to visit your grandparents. (e.g. no t-shirts, short skirts, etc. Nice dark jeans without rips or holes are acceptable.)

Bethlehem’s Luminaria Night was established in 1997 by three neighbors as a project to help those in need while uniting neighbors in the spirit of giving. Luminaria Night is run solely by volunteers.  All funds raised go to help the homeless, hungry, and poor in Bethlehem and surrounding areas with proceeds going to New Bethany Ministries.
 
Student volunteers are an essential part of the success of this program.  Volunteer opportunities include the assembly of luminaria kits, distribution and pick-up of kits, and clean-up after the event. All assembly and pick-up activities will be at the Memorial Pool Building on Illick’s Mill Road.  Students are also needed for set up at various senior citizen facilities on December 10 - must have own transportation
