LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville needs volunteers to help with their Winter Light Spectacular from 5:30-10pmevery Wednesday through Sunday, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day through December 31^st.  Volunteers help with games/activities, snack stands, costumed characters, parking, fire pits, admission, and more.  All opportunities are outdoors, so volunteers should dress weather appropriate!  Call Julia Bieski, 610-799-4171, jbieski@lvzoo.org.

BIG BROTHERS/SISTERS OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown is looking for Mentors for students at Fountain Hill Elementary School, Bethlehem. Mentors and Littles meet once a week 3:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. activity ideas are provided. Mentors are also needed for a Breakfast Program at Paxinosa Elementary, Easton. Breakfast mentors meet once a week from 8:15 a.m. - 9:00a.m at school. Call Melissa Moyer, 610-432-8000 x107, mmoyer@bbbslv.org.

EQUI-LIBRIUM, INC., Nazareth needs volunteers (14+ years) to help with their Holiday Horse Camp. Volunteers will assist participants with disabilities by helping them on and off the horse, walk next to the rider when they are mounted, help with their lesson, and help during other horse-related activities (grooming, feeding, etc.).Camp runs from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Wed. 12/27, Thurs. 12/28, and  Fri. 12/29 Call Yvonne Darlington, 610-365-2266, volunteercoordinator@equi-librium.org.

MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown needs volunteers (18+ years) to go grocery shopping for homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in an area of Lehigh County that works best for you. Flexible scheduling based on client's needs (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). A 40-minute orientation is required. THE SALVATION ARMY, Allentown needs responsible, reliable, and trustworthy volunteers for their 2017 Red Kettle Bell Ringing Campaign. Volunteers must relate well with the public, have a desire to help raise funds, be able to stand for a 4-hour shift and ring a handbell, must dress weather appropriate for outdoors, and provide their own transportation to The Salvation Army on N. 8th St. A short training orientation will be provided. American Red Cross of Lehigh Valley-Bucks - Freedom High School students - On Saturday, December 16, the Red Cross will be in Easton partnering with community organizations, volunteers, and firefighters to educate residents about fire safety and installing free smoke alarms in homes without them. We’re looking for volunteers to join us for a few hours to make the community safer.  ·  Registering to attend a Home Fire Campaign event is quick and easy. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville - The Lehigh Valley Zoo needs volunteers to be an integral part of the zoo family by providing Smart fun for over 200,000 visitors annually. Volunteers help in all areas of the Zoo, including animal exhibits, events, conservation messaging activities, development, marketing, and maintenance.  They are looking for volunteers to make a Zoo visit "an experience to remember for a lifetime."  Please contact Julia Bieski at (610) 799-4171 or jbieski@lvzoo.org.

GRACEDALE NURSING HOME, Nazareth - Volunteers needed to escort residents to appointments within the facility. Opportunities are Monday through Friday 9AM-3PM.  Activity helpers needed to assist staff with games, crafts, and special events. GRASS Recycling & Sustainability Project (For LHS Students Only!) - Student volunteers are needed to collect and coordinate recycling at Liberty. Students are needed daily. Please contact Mr. Zahm for more information at gzahm@basdschools.org

 FEAT (For FHS Students only!) - Freedom’s Environmental Awareness Team is always looking for new members to help with coordinating and collecting recycling!  They recycle after school most Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students meet in room 143. As the weather gets warmer, they will also need volunteers to work in the courtyard with weeding, mulching, planting, and general clean up. KIRKLAND VILLAGE, Bethlehem - Kirkland Village, a senior living center off of Center Street, is looking for additional volunteers in our Market Place food court between the hours of 4:00 -7:00 PM each day of the week.

MORAVIAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Bethlehem is seeking volunteer help to index historic church registers in an online database that dates back to the 1700’s and later.
